RHS is trying to give back to our community. We
are collecting gently used clothes, canned and non-perishable goods, and any
spare change. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Please drop off all
supplies in the art wing throughout the week in Ms. V’s room A109
On Monday, April, 23rd an
informational meeting will be held in the conference room during FLEX about a
new Journalism class that will be offered next year, as well as information
pertaining to the Yearbook class. If you are interested in journalism,
photography, communications, or learning about creative design please make sure
to attend.
The Kindness Club will meet before AND after school next Tuesday the 24th.
Guidance
New Scholarships have been added to the Junior/Senior
website. Seniors, time is running thin to apply for scholarships. The
last few deadlines are fast approaching. Don't miss your opportunity.
As a reminder, three scholarships
are due today:
they are the John Goetz, Robert Miller, and Barnard Family scholarships. Be
sure to turn applications in to Miss Crie prior to 7th period today.
The next SAT Prep session is today from 3rd period through FLEX in the
Conference Room. Also, there is one at the Tech Center tomorrow
from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Signing up is not required.
Clubs
Help families in Guatemala AND win a
treat for your 7th period class! Next week the Spanish Honor Society and
the Kindness Club will be collecting toothbrushes and boxes of Band-Aids from
7th period classes. The class with the highest item to student ratio will
win tortilla chips, salsa, and drinks!
Spanish Club will meet after school
on Tuesday, April 24. We will be watching a movie so plan for your ride
to pick you up at 5:00.

The next and final NHS meeting will
be held Tuesday May 8th at 3pm in the library. All members must turn
in their service hours at this meeting.

Sports
Practice for flag tryouts
will begin next Tuesday and Thursday after school at the band
room. Practice will begin at 3:00 pm and finish at 4:30
pm. Be sure to dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes to practice.
There
is a spring cleaning sale at Riverside Runners (Tennis shoes and sneakers
store) this weekend Apr 20th-Apr 21st. Close out
pricing on footwear SAVE up to 30% up to 40% FRI (4/20), up to 50% SAT (4/21)
The
girls tennis team defeated Heritage high school yesterday by the score of 7-2.
Winners from yesterday day match were, Candace Wilson, Megan Elliott, Clarisse
Vance, Brooke Worley, Lucia Sanchez and Audrey Carlson.

Any student attending prom this weekend is
reminded that they have to attend school on Friday to be able to attend.

Rustburg's Boys Track Team won the
quad meet against EC Glass,Jefferson Forest and Brookville. The event winners
were: Bradley Wiggs, Christian Burger, Devan Watts.
The girls track team finished 2nd in
the same quad meet. The event winners were: Grace Phillips, Trinity
Lamberth,Leah Eick, TaRiya Dawson and Parker Goldstein.

The girl's placed 4th and the boy's placed 9th and Ryan Fore was named the meets' most valuable runner. Parker Goldstein qualified for the Group 3A State Track & Field Championship in the high jump. Administration Quote of the day: Be kind whenever possible, It’s always possible. After-Prom ticket sell dates @ Lunches today, $15 per person Friday April 13th as well as next Monday and Wednesday. Students, the deadline for purchasing a yearbook is today, April 13th. The cost of the yearbook is $50.00. Anyone who does not purchase in advance will not be guaranteed to get one at the end of the year as a limited quantity is ordered. Are you interested in being a tutor next year? If so, please come get or turn in a tutor application by April 18th. See Ms. Gledhill or Mrs. Eccles for more information. 
Guidance   Attention Seniors: Today is Senior Awareness Day. You will receive your list of sessions during 1st period. If you do not have a first period at RHS, your list will be in the Counseling Office. New scholarships have been added to the Junior/Senior website.
