The Early College Program

A Partnership between Campbell County Schools and

Central Virginia Community College

Important Information

For Early College Applicants and Parents

To apply to the Early College Program the student must:       

·         be a sophomore enrolled in a Campbell County high school

·         be enrolled in Algebra II/Trig or a higher level math course and have successfully

      completed Algebra I and Geometry

·         have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

·         submit a completed application to the Counseling Office by February 8, 2019



Applications can be picked up from the Counseling Office or downloaded (see below).  There is also an electronic copy below if you would like to type your application, then print.  FYI:  Three recommendations are required (one from a English teacher, one from a Math teacher and one from Science or Social Studies teacher).


Students invited to participate in the program must take the CVCC Compass assessment in mathematics and English.  Acceptable scores must be secured prior to placement in the program. The test will be given at RHS on Monday, February 4th (English Section) and Tuesday, February 5th (Math Section).

Informational meetings will be held for parents and students on January 15, 2019 at 6:30 pm and January 17, 2019 at 8:00 pm at the Campbell County Technical Center.

 

All students accepted into the program must participate in an orientation that will be held shortly before the beginning of the school year.  Students will be notified of the date as soon as it is set.
