  • Attention Juniors: The next SAT prep session is tomorrow in the Conference room.
  • Representatives from Liberty University will meet with all interested students on March 31st during Flex for an informational session.  Following this meeting, any seniors who wish to apply may do so with help from college admissions officers.  Seniors wishing to apply need to bring a copy of their transcript(s) and their SAT/ACT scores.  The $50 application fee will be waived if seniors apply that day.  Sign up in the counseling office if you would like to attend.
  • Attention Juniors:  SAT School Day is March 25 and it's free!  If you did not sign up in your history class, the sign-up sheet and fee waivers are located in the Counseling Office.  The deadline to sign-up is February 17th.  Please see Ms. Pugh for additional information.   
  • Liberty University is having an Aviation Maintenance Open House on February 25 from 6 to 8 pm.  See the Counseling Office for additional information.

  • The VA Youth Conservation Corps program is now accepting applications.  This program provides PAID community service opportunities.  Applicants must be from ages 14-17.  Participants will live in Virginia state parks for three weeks over the summer and carry out park development and maintenance projects, receive environmental education, and engage in recreational activities such as hiking, caving, and canoeing.  Visit the Counseling Office for more information.
  • Longwood University’s Kinesiology program is hosting Biomechanics Day on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  This event allows students to learn about the Kinesiology program through a behind-the-scenes tour of the Biomechanics Lab and participation in a variety of activities including 3D motion analysis, demonstrations of force plates and how they indicate how hard a person walks or lands from a jump, and experiencing how movement analysis is used to help prevent sports injuries.  This a great opportunity for any student interested in going into the careers of athletic training, sports medicine, or physical therapy.  Visit the Counseling Office for full details.
  • The Sophomore class is taking their annual field trip to visit the Tech Center on Tuesday, February 18th.  They will visit in two groups. Mrs. Foster’s English classes will attend in the morning. Mrs. Wommack's and Mr. McConnell's classes will visit in the afternoon. 


  • Young Life will NOT be at the school tonight. Separate guys and girls events will be happening with the leaders. See Miss Wendt for more information or check @rustburgyounglife on Instagram for updates. 


  • Girls soccer conditioning will take place today and Wednesday this week and will take place on the Band Field.  Girls Soccer Tryouts will take place February 24-26 for those interested in playing JV or Varsity.  A sports physical is required for all activities.
  • February 18th: Regional Track Championship @ FUMA
  • February 20th: Dodgeball Tournament (6-8:00 pm)
  • February 21st-22nd: State Wrestling Tournament @ Salem Civic Center
  • Any athlete interested in running long distance races Coach Mosley will have a special meeting to discuss training methods on February 18th at 7:45am in the conference room. If you need more details, please see Coach Mosley or Coach Doughlas.
