Administration

The library is closed today except during Flex. Please don't send student aids to make copies as well. 

Seniors, do not forget today is senior portrait make-up and retake day. If you miss or do not have your portrait taken, you will not be in the yearbook so it is critical that you show up for your session time that was given to you last week. If you have a conflict, go see Mrs. Sholes immediately. 


Your senior portrait make-up day will be Today during FLEX, you will be given a time slot for your portrait session. If this time slot does not suit you, please see Mrs. Sholes. If you took your senior portraits over the summer and need to retake them, you need to go see Mrs. Sholes during FLEX as well. Please remember, if you do not have your senior portrait taken on Wednesday you will not be in the yearbook. 

Are you interested in developing your entrepreneurial skills and have creative ideas?  The Young Entrepreneurs Program may be right for you.  If you are interested in the program, please see Mrs. Hale.  


Are you interested in paying it forward?  Dr. Cocke will have an organizational meeting tomorrow at 2:50 in her room for students interested in earning community service hours or if you just want to help your community.  We will begin by placing recycling boxes throughout the school as well as planning other things to help our community.  If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting, see Dr. Cocke.

Guidance

Attention Juniors:  If you would like to take the PSATs again before you take the SATs, you can sign up and pay the $15 testing fee to the Counseling Office by Thursday, September 22

 Attention Juniors and Seniors:  There will be a College info Night on Monday, September 12 from 6 to 8 pm in the Library.  A college representative will be presenting.  If you are attending college, you and a parent need to be here.

Colleges are coming to Rustburg!  Admissions counselors from many different colleges and universities will be visiting RHS in the coming months!  During the month of September: UVA, UVA-Wise, Randolph College and Radford University will be here to speak with students. Sign-up today to attend these upcoming college informational visits!  Sign-up sheets are located next to the Guidance Office door.  Look for all of the college pennants and sign up at lunch time!

Clubs

This announcement is for current members of NHS:  Rustburg Elementary School is having its Open House tomorrow, September 8th from 6:30 until 8.  Volunteers are needed to serve refreshments and to help clean-up.  If interested, please let Mrs. Bailey know by tomorrow, September 7th.  This will count toward your required service hours. 

FCA will start Wednesday September 14 in the conference room 7:30-8:00.  Look forward to seeing you then!!!!

French Club dues are $5 and they are due to Mrs. Cartwright by this Friday, September 9th.  If you are interested in being a French Club officer this year, applications are due by this Friday, September 2nd.  Please see Mrs. Cartwright for details.


Sports

Fall Conditioning will start next Thursday at 3:00 on the track. All athletes are invited to attend Fall

Conditioning. For more details, please see Coach Mosley.

Open field for softball tomorrow, at 3:15 to 5.

JV and Varsity boys basketball open gym will be at the middle school until 530 Tomorrow.

Marching Band practice today and tomorrow this week.

Girls  Basketball practice will resume tomorrow.
