Guidance

  • UVA has been added to the colleges who will visit RHS this fall.  In order to accommodate the most students, counselors from UVA will be here during 6th period on October 6th. You must sign up in the Counseling Office to attend.
  • Lynchburg General Hospital is looking for Teen Volunteers to work the information desk, gift shop, surgical lobby, guest services, pet therapy, and customer service.  Students who serve as teen volunteers for two years are eligible for a scholarship.  Come to the Counseling Office for more information. 
  • The next SAT Prep Session is this Friday from 6th through 7th period.  Sign up in the Counseling Office if you are interested.
  • New scholarships have been added to the junior/senior website!  Check it out and start applying.
  • The Friends of Rustburg Library are sponsoring a scholarship for volunteers of the Rustburg Public Library.  If you need community service hours AND money for college, this is a great opportunity for you!  You must sign up to be a volunteer by November 1st to be eligible for the scholarship.  See the junior/senior website for more details.

 

Clubs

  • The MAC club will have their first meeting before or after school on September 11th. 
  • The STEM Club will have its informational meeting on Wednesday, September 18 in Mr. Murtha's room from 3:00-3:30 after school.
  • Attention! Rustburg High school is playing Appomattox tomorrow in our first Souperbowl. The goal is to raise the most canned goods/money over Appomattox. Donations will be accepted Tuesday, September 3rd through Friday, September 6th. The flex house with the most collected cans and money will receive ice cream.   • RHS Political-History Club will meet today (Thursday Sept 5) at 3:00.  If you like History and Politics please come join us in Mrs. Burrell's room G215

  • All NHS applications and teacher recommendation forms are due back to Mrs. Bullington or Mrs. Burrell by Tuesday, Sept. 10th.  No late forms will be accepted.
  • This year's first cookies and kindness speaker will be here next Monday, the 9th during flex. The first 30 students to sign up for the event in the library will be allowed to join us! 

 

Sports

  • Congratulations to the following girls for their victories yesterday at the Cross Country meet:

  • Attention Red Devils: Today’s JV football game against Appomattox will be a WHITE OUT. Wear white and come prepared to pump our team! 
  • Girls Soccer Conditioning will begin September 30 and will run each Monday and Wednesday of each week (weather permitting).  In order to participate, you will need to complete your physical prior to September 30 and have all pages signed and turned in.  Conditioning is open to 8th thru 12th graders interested in playing JV or Varsity Girls Soccer in the Spring. 
  • September 5th: Bteam/JV Football Home vs. Appomattox 5/6:30 pm, Volleyball @ William Campbell 5:30/7 pm
  • September 6th: Varsity Football @ Appomattox 7 pm
  • Any athlete interested in Fall Conditioning the first practice will be September 9,2019 on the track. Conditioning days will be on Monday's and Wednesday's 3:10-4:30. Monday's practices will be held at Rustburg Middle School and Wednesday's practices will be held at RHS. For more information contact Coach Mosley.
  • Attention Baseball Players: Fall workouts will begin Tuesday, Sept. 17th. You MUST see Coach Carr in order to participate.

Reminders:

  • Seniors who still need to take senior portraits, the make-up day will be Sept. 12th. 
  • Rustburg Sports Apparel order forms are due no later than Friday, Sept. 6th. Please turn all order forms in to the main office.
