  • RHS will be hosting a blood drive on October 2nd from 8:30 am-2:30 pm.  If you would like to donate, please sign up in the main office.  

 

Guidance

  • The Friends of Rustburg Library are sponsoring a scholarship for volunteers of the Rustburg Public Library.  If you need community service hours AND money for college, this is a great opportunity for you!  You must sign up to be a volunteer by November 1st to be eligible for the scholarship.  See the junior/senior website for more details.
  • Virginia Tech is offering a free two-week summer program for rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who are interested in Engineering AND who will be the first in their families to attend college. See your counselor for details.
  • New Part -Time Job Opportunity, the DMV in Altavista is looking for Seniors who are interested in working at the Call Center Monday-Friday 1-5pm and Saturdays 8-12pm. Pays $10/hr. Come by the counseling office if you're interested.
  • Attention juniors and seniors:  We have a limited number of spots available for the PSAT for juniors and the SAT for seniors. If you missed the deadline to sign up for the PSAT or SAT, please see Ms. Pugh or Mrs. Martin in Guidance. You must sign up by Wednesday, October 2nd. 
  • The next SAT Prep session is tomorrow at the Tech Center from 9 am to 11 am. 

 

Clubs

  • There will be one final information meeting for students interested in going on the 2020 Europe trip to France and Spain. This meeting will be on Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:00 in the library. 
  • The RHS STEM Club will have its next meeting on Wednesday, October 9 in Mr. Murtha’s room from 3-3:30. Please make an effort to come if you are interested!

 

 Sports

  • There will be a swim team meeting in the commons this morning during FLEX.
  • Girls Soccer Conditioning will begin September 30 and will run each Monday and Wednesday of each week (weather permitting).  In order to participate, you will need to complete your physical prior to September 30 and have all pages signed and turned in.  Conditioning is open to 8th thru 12th graders interested in playing JV or Varsity Girls Soccer in the Spring. 
  • September 27th: Varsity Football vs. Glass at 7:00 pm (Slate, Wendt, Bailey, Clark, Klimchuk)

Reminders:

  • The theme for tonight's football game is tie-dye! Please wear tie-dye to show your school spirit!
