Guidance

  • The Friends of Rustburg Library are sponsoring a scholarship for volunteers of the Rustburg Public Library.  If you need community service hours AND money for college, this is a great opportunity for you!  You must sign up to be a volunteer by November 1st to be eligible for the scholarship.  See the junior/senior website for more details.
  • Juniors - don't forget to sign up for the PSAT by Friday, September 13th.  The cost is $17 and fee waivers are available.  The date for the PSAT is Wednesday, October 16th.  Sign-up sheets and fee waivers are in Guidance.  
  • Seniors - don't forget to sign up for SAT Day by Friday, September 13th.  SAT Day is free for all seniors.  Fee waivers are available for additional SAT tests and are available in Guidance.  SAT Day is Wednesday, October 16th.  Sign-up sheets and fee waivers are in Guidance.
  • Hampden-Sydney College and Hollins University are visiting today during flex.  Passes will be distributed during 1st period.
  • There will be a mandatory AP meeting for all AP students in the auditorium this Friday September 13th during flex.
  • We have had a last minute addition of George Mason University to our college visit list.  They will be here at the beginning of 6th period today (Wednesday 9/11).  Please sign up in the Counseling Office after dismissal or first thing tomorrow morning.

Clubs

  • Do you like trivia? Come check out Scholastic Bowl! Any students interested in participating in scholastic bowl please come to an information meeting after school today (Wednesday, September 11th) or during flex on Thursday, September 12 in Ms. Rierson’s room, D9.
  • French Club dues are $5 and are due to Mrs. Cartwright by Friday, September 13th.
  • The MAC club will have their first meeting before or after school today (September 11th). 
  • The STEM Club will have its informational meeting on Wednesday, September 18 in Mr. Murtha's room from 3:00-3:30 after school.
  • The Sign Language Club will be meeting in E205 on Thursday at 3PM.

 

Sports

  • Sept. 11th Golf @ Colonial Hills 4:30 pm
  • Cross Country @ Turner Ashby.

 

  • September 12th: Golf @ Hat Creek 4:30 pm, Volleyball Home vs. EC Glass 5:30/7 pm
  • September 13th: Varsity Football Home vs. Altavista 7 pm
  • Girls Soccer Conditioning will begin September 30 and will run each Monday and Wednesday of each week (weather permitting).  In order to participate, you will need to complete your physical prior to September 30 and have all pages signed and turned in.  Conditioning is open to 8th thru 12th graders interested in playing JV or Varsity Girls Soccer in the Spring. 
  • Attention Baseball Players: Fall workouts will begin Tuesday, Sept. 17th. You MUST see Coach Carr in order to participate.
  • Attention all students: Thursday Night's volleyball game and Friday's Football game will have a Neon Nites theme. Students sport your brightest neon colors and come out to support our teams! 

 

Band/Chorus/Drama

  • Aladdin rehearsal will be from 3-5 on Thursday.

 

 Reminders:

  • Seniors who still need to take senior portraits, the make-up day will be tomorrow (Sept. 12th). 

  • Booster apparel sales will be extended through Sept. 13th
  • Ms. Wommack will announce SCA officers tomorrow.
