Congratulations to the scholastic bowl team for their outstanding performance this weekend at the Cave Springs Invitational. Special congratulations to Ben Kelley for finishing in fourth place out of a field of over 90 competitors.


Guest speaker Stephen Willis will be here at 7:40am on Wednesday for FCA in the girls health room. 

Tickets would be on sale for Ring Dance beginning Monday, October 26th and will run through Friday, November 6th.  Students wishing to purchase tickets may do so before or after school...See Mrs. Slate, Room E-207 to purchase.

Ticket cost - $20.00 individual ;  $40 for a couple (both from RHS) and $50 if the date is NOT an RHS student.


Senior Portrait make-up day will be today Oct. 26th. All Seniors who have not had their portrait taken with Lifetouch will need to have their it taken in order to be placed in the Yearbook. Also, Underclassmen and Teacher make-up day will be Wednesday the 28th.


Seniors: If you have a November 1 college application deadline, be sure you have filled out a transcript request form in the counseling office.

Any junior or senior interested in Southside Electric's DAY IN THE LIFE A LINEMAN program should see Mrs. Herndon.


Clubs  / Miscellaneous

The French Club Halloween party is this Wednesday, October 28th from 3-4 in the conference room.  Please bring a pumpkin and your $5 dues.  French Club officers will have a meeting after the party.

The French Club T-shirt design is in.  Please see Ms. Nablo for details.  If you would like a T-shirt, the $12 fee is due by November 20th.


All current NHS members and all members who will be inducted into NHS have practice this Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the auditorium at 3 p.m. Practice is mandatory.


In trying to get ahead, a mistake was made on the yellow sheets new members received yesterday.  Originally, our induction date was Monday, Nov. 2.  It had to be moved to Wed., Nov. 4th.

The induction practice is still on Tuesday, Oct. 27.


Attention Seniors: Jostens representatives will be at school two days to assist you with your graduation order. The girls can place their orders on Thursday Oct. 29th during all lunches in the Cafeteria. The guys ordering day will be Friday Oct. 30th during all lunches in the Cafeteria. All seniors need to order their cap, gown, and other graduation items on one of these days. A $75.00 deposit is requested to place an order. Extra graduation packets are available in the front office.

The last day to buy a Spanish Club T-shirt is Friday.


The Yearbook Committee is proud to announce that they will be offering a Lay-A-Way plan for the yearbook this year. In addition, the intro price will only be $40.00. You will need to secure your plan with a $5.00 down payment before November 15th to get this price; order forms can be picked up in Mrs. Sholes’ room before or after school. After November 15th, the yearbook will increase to $50.00. Order your yearbook today!


The French Club Halloween Party will be on Wednesday, October 28th from 3-4 in the conference room.  We will be painting pumpkins, so please bring a pumpkin to paint!  Members must have paid dues to attend.


ATTN JUNIORS:  Date forms for Ring Dance are in the main office.  You must fill out a date form if you are bringing anybody that’s not a junior at RHS.  Have the form filled out and bring it back to Mrs. Bullington by November 6.  Any questions, see her.




Congratulations to the Marching Red Devils on their final contest performance of the season. The band won first place in general effect, color guard, and percussion. They won 2nd place in Music and Marching and third place drum major. The band finished in second place just missing first place by eight tenths of a point. Congratulations Marching Red Devils on an awesome performance on Saturday at Lord Botetourt! Marching band practice will be this Thursday Oct. 29th


This Friday we will be hosting the Amherst County Lancers in our last regular season home game.  This will be our Senior and Pink Out Night.  At halftime we will recognize our 1990 State Championship football team.  Come out and support the Red Devils!
