  • New schools have been added to the schedule of colleges visiting Rustburg this fall.  Please sign-up in the Counseling Office if you would like to attend. 

  • ODU is coming on October  26. They offer top rating majors in Health Sciences, Business Management and Marketing, Education, and Psychology.

  • The Virginia Technical Institute is visiting on October 29 and they offer hands-on training in a variety of fields including electrical, plumbing, heating and air, welding, pipe-fitting, carpentry, masonry, industrial maintenance, and project management. 

  • The Jefferson College of Nursing will be visiting on November 12.

  • Also, two opportunities for onsite admissions are coming up very soon.  These opportunities allow seniors to receive admissions decision at school and in-person.  Admissions counselors from the University of Lynchburg will be here on October 23rd to review Rustburg applications and admissions counselors from Radford Univerity will be here on November 5th.  See Mrs. La Roche for further details.



  • The first ever Whatever K will be happening on the track on Saturday at 9 a.m. Come walk or Run whatever you want. All participants get a kindness bracelet and free snacks and a raffle ticket for some great door prizes. The more you run, the more tickets you get! Please come out and celebrate kindness with the Rustburg Community. You can even dress up!

  • There will be a French Club Relay for Life interest meeting after school in Mrs. Cartwright's room from 3-3:30 on Friday, October 19th.

  • The French Club Halloween party will be Tuesday, October 23rd from 3-4:30 in the conference room. Please see Mrs. Cartwright to sign up and bring a snack to share. We will be wearing costumes!

  • NHS induction practice is tomorrow, Oct. 18th at 3 pm in the auditorium.  NHS induction is Monday, Oct. 22nd at 6 pm in the auditorium.  Both of these are mandatory for current and new NHS members.  Any questions, see Mrs. Bullington.

  • Creative Writing club will be meeting today, from 3-4 in Ms. Banton’s room.

  • Calling all talkers! Do you like to argue? Do you love telling stories? Is performing your passion? If so, come check out Forensics!  Forensics is a VHSL activity with lots of different opportunities for public speakers. Any students interested in Forensics should come to a short informational meeting during flex in Ms. Rierson's room, D9, on Tuesday, October 23. If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Rierson for information. 

  • The next Poet’s Club meeting will be October 24th.

  • If you are interested in participating in Senior Council or running for a class office this year, please attend one of the two interest meetings on Monday, October 22nd during flex or after school in Ms. Rierson's room. If you cannot attend, please submit your interest to Mrs. Banton or Ms. Rierson on Monday. 


  • For girls interested in Varsity Soccer, a meeting will be held tomorrow, October 18th at 3:30 in the Commons Area.

  • There will be no Boy’s Basketball workouts this week.

  • The Marching Band will practice today thru Friday.

  • Boys Soccer Conditioning will start today from 3:30-5:00 on the band field.  Also, there will be a parents meeting directly after the conditioning session to discuss the fundraiser in progress.

A reminder that the senior class graduation meeting is set for this Thursday, October 18th, in the auditorium at 10:15 am.  Seniors, please be sure to attend and bring something to write with and take notes.
