The Fun Committee will be sponsoring a Lip Sync Battle on May 31, 2016 in the gym during 6th and 7th periods.  Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to participate.  Please be thinking about an appropriate song that you would like to perform.  There is a 3 minute time limit.  More information will be coming next week.

Tutors are reminded to meet in G106 Monday during FLEX.


ATTENTION SCHOLARSHIP SEEKERS: The deadlines for the Kyle Thornhill/NAACP Scholarship and the Rustburg Garden Club Scholarship have been extended.  Apply now!

Clubs  / Miscellaneous

Seniors: All graduation caps must be turned in to Mrs. Banton by today. Even if you are not decorating your cap you must turn it in.

Attention Seniors: any senior who has already signed on with a military branch, please come to the art wing and sign a star, which is on the bulletin board outside of the nurses clinic. The stars will be put into a $25 gift card drawing. This is to honor the military and the seniors entering the military.

The last Spanish Club meeting will be Thursday, May 5.  Please sign up to bring food with Mrs. Morton or Mrs. Solórzano.

NHS members are reminded our final meeting tomorrow, May 3rd.  NHS service hours are due on this date.

All French students at Rustburg High School participated in the French Alliance Writing Contest last month, and the winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony at Brookville Friday night.  Out of 23 possible awards, 10 RHS students placed in the contest.

 For level 1, Ella Jarmakka won 2nd place.  

For level 2, Kacie Reusser won 2nd place and Autumn Doss won 4th place.  

For level 3, Katie Deckard won 1st place, Will Carlson won 3rd place, Katelyn Lloyd won 4th place, and Bethany Holzknecht won 5th place.

For level 4, Ben Kelley won 1st place and Alyssa Shrum won 2nd place.

For level 5, Mary King won 1st place.

22 students also received honorable mentions.  Their names are listed on the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Cartwright's room. Congratulations to these students!

The French Club Relay for Life team will be having a bake sale during all lunches Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week.  Please buy baked goods and support our team!

Congratulations to the Rustburg High School Chorus who received a 1st place trophy and excellent rating at the Musicale Festival this weekend in Williamsburg. Special medals were given for Outstanding Performance to Patricia Hurst and Micah Livsey for their solo performances.


Congratulations to the girls’ soccer team on their win over Brookville Friday night.
