Guidance

Applications for the STEM academy are due next week.  Interested sophomores and juniors encouraged to apply.  Shadow experiences are available - see Mrs. Herndon if you'd like to attend classes and labs at the XLR8 STEM academy.

Any Junior who is interested in learning more about an all expenses paid trip to Washington, DC, to visit the Pentagon, meet delegates, and visit many national monuments should see Mrs. Herndon ASAP for an application!

 

Clubs  / Miscellaneous

The Creative Writing Club will be meeting in Mrs. Foster’s room on Wednesday, March 4th until 3:45 PM.  We hope to see you there!


"Best of Broadway" cast:  We will begin again Wednesday March 4th after school from 3 to 4:30 in the auditorium.  Please make plans to be at the practice.  If you have questions, please see Ms. V in
A-109.


Spanish Club will have its 1st Annual Film Festival after school on Thursday, March 5, 2015.  Join us for a movie and refreshments.

 

The Dodge Ball Tournament has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 22.  All registration forms and money ($20) need to be turned in to Mrs. Inge  in classroom E130 by Friday, April 17.  Times are the same, teams and sponsors have to be in the auditorium at 5PM for a rules meeting.  The games start at 5:30PM.

 

We have extended the Fighting Famine in February food drive until this Friday, March 6th.  If anyone has collected items in their classrooms to this point, please put the items on the collection table in the commons area so we can count up the number we have collected.  Thanks and go RHS!!

 

Sports

There will be no tennis practice today for the boys .The girls will practice on the green courts today a from 3:00 to 4:45.

Registration forms for the Dream Big Sports Academy are available in the main office.  This Leadership Academy will again be hosted by Rustburg High School April 6-8.  Attendance if free for RHS athletes and registration forms are due back by April 1st.

There are also some postcards from the Blue Ridge Soccer Haus in the main office for players who need to buy some soccer gear. The business is closing and will offer deep discounts starting today.
