Guidance

Attention Juniors:  If you applied to a Dual Enrollment program for next year, you will be notified if you were accepted during Spring Break.  The acceptance letter you received from CVCC is for the college not the programs. 

 

Attention students:  If you picked up an application for Teachers for Tomorrow, Elementary Teacher's Aide or Yearbook, please return the completed applications to the Counseling Office no later than Wednesday, April 15th.  This date may be different than what's on the applications, please note the change.

 

Attention students:  If you have met with your Counselor and picked classes for next year, please return your signed registration form to the Counseling Office no later than Wednesday, April 1.

 

Lots of new scholarships in the counseling office - please come by today to get the latest list!


Clubs  / Miscellaneous

 

Good luck to Chelsey Fix and Amanda Ivanoff as they travel to state forensics tomorrow.

 

Teachers for Tomorrow students are reminded their Lynchburg College assignments are due next Wednesday, April 1st.  Yesterday's announcement inadvertently said Friday.

 

Any NHS student interested in earning hours by helping Mrs. V. with the upcoming production of Oliver needs to see Mrs. V. or Mrs. Bailey.  Opportunities include helping to build and paint sets to selling programs, tickets, or working concessions.  Help is needed April 1st-4th, 10th-12th, and the 16th-18th.

 

Students attending the French Film festival this weekend will meet at school at 6:50 this Saturday morning.  There will be a French Club Relay for Life team meeting on Monday, March 30th from 3-3:30. 

The French Honor Society Induction will be Thursday, April 2nd at 6:00.

 

Spanish Club will meet after school on Thursday, April 2 from 3-4pm.

 

The Dodge Ball Tournament has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 22.  All registration forms and money ($20) need to be turned in to Mrs. Inge in classroom E130 by Friday, April 17.  Times are the same, teams and sponsors have to be in the auditorium at 5 PM for a rules meeting.  The games start at 5:30 PM.

 

Sports

No Track practice today.

The JV boy soccer team were winners last evening against Liberty by a score of 2-1 to remain unbeaten for the season.

The Varsity boys soccer team played a strong Liberty eleven last evening. After conceding a late first half goal, the Red Devil team tried gallantly to claw its way back into the game. The game went back and forth throughout the duration of the game but the Rustburg team was unable to execute on the front end. The final score was 2-0, Liberty.

The Girls’ Basketball Awards Banquet will be held this Sunday, March 29th at RHS at 4:00 PM.  This includes B-Team, JV and Varsity.

Registration forms for the Dream Big Sports Academy are available in the main office.  This Leadership Academy will again be hosted by Rustburg High School April 6-8.  Attendance is free for RHS athletes and registration forms are due back by April 1st.
