The RHS Student Learning Center will be open today during flex, and also this afternoon after school until 3:45 in the guidance conference room.  If you need a tutor, please fill out a tutor request form in guidance.  Students who visit the Student Learning Center will be entered into a drawing for a special prize each week! 

 

Guidance

Attention students:  If you picked up an application for Teachers for Tomorrow, Elementary Teacher's Aide or Yearbook, please return the completed applications to the Counseling Office no later than Wednesday, April 15th.  This date may be different than what's on the applications, please note the change.

 

Attention students:  If you have met with your Counselor and picked classes for next year, please return your signed registration form to the Counseling Office no later than Wednesday, April 1.

 

Lots of new scholarships in the counseling office - please come by today to get the latest list!


Clubs  / Miscellaneous

 

Now to announce the 2015 Senior Class Prom Court Ballot.

 

For Prom Queen: Brooke Forslund, Morgan Moore, Nikkia Pannell, and Malia Yuille.

 

For Prom King: Cole Campbell, Tyler Hubbard, Will Morris, and Juan Pelaez.

 

We will have the final vote and crowning Saturday night at Prom.


Our Fighting Famine in February Food Drive resulted in a collection of 762 items for REAP, our local emergency assistance program.  Way to go RHS!  Your willingness to help will enable others in our community to live better lives.

 

If you are interested in singing with the RHS Vocal Ensemble next year, please sign up on the bulletin board beside the chorus room.  This morning is the deadline. 

 

Spanish Club will meet after school on Thursday, April 2 from 3-4pm.

 

There will be a French Club Relay for Life team meeting on Monday, March 31st from 3-3:30.

 

Any NHS member who is interested in helping with the Dream Big Academy that will be hosted here at RHS April 6th-8th should see Mrs. Bailey for further information.  This is a good opportunity to acquire required service hours.

 

The Dodge Ball Tournament has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 22.  All registration forms and money ($20) need to be turned in to Mrs. Inge in classroom E130 by Friday, April 17.  Times are the same, teams and sponsors have to be in the auditorium at 5 PM for a rules meeting.  The games start at 5:30 PM.

 

Sports

The Girls’ Basketball Awards Banquet will be held this Sunday, March 29th at RHS at 4:00 PM.  This includes B-Team, JV and Varsity.

The Boys soccer teams are scheduled to play at home tonight; JV at 5 P.M. and Varsity @6:45 P.M. Listen to the afternoon announcements for game confirmation.

The JV team tied 1-all yesterday. The team led 1-0 for much of the game but conceded a late goal to Appomattox to tie.

Registration forms for the Dream Big Sports Academy are available in the main office.  This Leadership Academy will again be hosted by Rustburg High School April 6-8.  Attendance is free for RHS athletes and registration forms are due back by April 1st.
