  • RHS will be hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross on March 18th.  You must be at least 16 to donate. If you would like to volunteer or donate, please come by the main office.

  • Are you in the 9th grade and will you be the first in your family to attend college?  If yes, then Virginia Tech is offering an opportunity for you to experience college life for FREE from May 29th to May 31st. You will get to live in a college dorm, eat in the dining halls, and participate in lots of fun activities!  Stop by the Counseling Office for full details.
  • SAT Prep session scheduled for tomorrow is cancelled.  The next and last session will be on Tuesday, March 24.
  • Today begins four days of testing for Writing.  Students scheduled to test today will need to report to their testing locations after morning announcements.  Bookbags, cell phones and wearable technology should be placed in your locker prior to testing.

  • Young Life is at its new location tonight at 7:01 pm!!! Let Miss Wendt know if you need a leader to give you a ride!! See Ms. Wendt for more information!
  • This past Saturday, 20 French students traveled to Richmond to participate in the Congres (conGRAY) French convention, and several students placed in their competitions. Grace Beveridge won first place in level 2 Recitation, Rebecca Bingham won 3rd place in level 3 Dramatic Reading, Rebekah Funderburk won 3rd place in level 5 Slam Poetry, and David Johnson won 3rd place in level 5 Recitation. Congratulations to these students and to everyone who participated!
  • There will be a STEM Club meeting this Wednesday (3/4) at 3:00 pm in Mr. Murtha's room. It should not last more than an hour. 

 

 Sports

  • March 2nd: State Track Championship @ LU
  • March 3rd: State Track Championship @ LU
  • March 5th: Spring Sports Parent Meeting (6 pm)
  • Girls Soccer Practice will take place on the Band Field from Monday thru Wednesday.  Please ensure you also have gym shoes in case of inclement weather.
  • Cheerleading open gym will start open gym on Monday March 9th. If you have any questions, please see Coach Mitchell.

 

Reminders:

  • Yearbooks will be on sale through March 20th for $65. They are first come first serve. Order forms will be available in the main office and outside of Mrs. Carr's room. Students may turn money in before school, flex, and 5th period only.
