The Sadie Hawkin's Dance will be held on February 17 from 7-10pm at Rustburg High School.  Tickets will be $10 at the door and $8 in advance.  Tickets will be on sale during lunch on today January 29th (Monday), and February 5th tickets will be sold in the morning and at lunch on February 5th as well as on February 12th.  Carnations will also be on sale for $2 on Valentine’s Day during the morning and at lunch.  All proceeds will support the RHS PTSO 2018 After Prom Party.  If you are bringing a date from another school, you must complete a date form, which will be located in the main office.

The informational meeting for Science Fair will be today after school in room D115. Please see Mr. McRorie if you are interested and cannot make the meeting.

The Dodgeball Tournament is Feb. 22 starting at 6 pm.

Make your team by picking up a form in the office.  You need a teacher sponsor and $20 to make a team.  Forms are due by Feb. 16.  Hope to see you out there!

 

Guidance

More new scholarships have been added to the Junior/Senior Website.  March deadlines are approaching fast.  Keep applying!  See Miss Crie with any questions!

11th graders interested in applying for dual enrollment: If you have not picked up a dual enrollment application, please see Mrs. Stevens during FLEX today.

Attention 10th, 11th and 12th graders:  The next SAT prep session is this Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 in the Conference room.  Sign up in the Counseling Office if you are interested.



Clubs

The next Poet's Club meeting will be this Wednesday, January 31st from 3:00-4:00 in Mrs. Slate's room. We will be working on the poetry newsletter, so please bring an original work to submit.

The next French Club meeting will be in Mrs. Cartwright's room this Thursday, February 1st from 3:00-4:30.

The next regularly scheduled NHS meeting will be Tuesday, February 13th in the library right after school.  There will be no January make-up meeting.

The robotics club has decided that from now on their meetings will take place on Monday afternoons after school.  It is important that all members be present today because the yearbook picture will be taken. 

NHS members:  There's a new opportunity for you!  Come join in the fun at the Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine.  Mandatory meeting on Thursday, February 1st at 6:30 p.m. at Journey Ministries,2002 Church Street, Appomattox, VA  24522

Sports

Last week’s driving range will go this week with Coach Burch (Monday from 6-9:15pm) (Tuesday – Friday 5:30-8:15pm.) Next week’s group will be rescheduled and will be notified when the date has been set. Any questions see Coach Burch.

Boys Soccer will have a team meeting tomorrow 1/30. All are welcome to attend the meeting and conditioning session: the conditioning sessions require a signed up to date physical

There will be a meeting for those that are interested in playing tennis in spring tomorrow, January 30th after school in the commons area.

Girls soccer conditioning will be held tonight, Monday at Hyland Heights Baptist Church from 6:30-8:00
