Is smiling your favorite?  If you answered yes, please join us to watch the movie Elf right after school on Thursday, December 17th in the auditorium.  The cost is $2 and will help support the Student Learning Center.

 

Students a reminder-No book bags, cell phones, or other belongings are allowed in SOL testing locations.  These items must be put in your locker before you report.


Clubs  / Miscellaneous

The French Club Christmas party will be Tomorrow, December 15th.  Please bring a dessert and a small gift for the dirty Santa game. The French Honor Society applications are also due Tuesday, December 15th.

 

Sports

Congratulations to Josey Soward at all district band auditions on Saturday. Josey was selected as the Rustburg representative to participate in the district band event in February. He will rehearse with a guest conductor and the other all district students and they will put on a concert with two days of rehearsal time. Congratulations to Josie.

 

Results from the Elite Track meet:

Isiah Garland broke the school record in the 55 meters dash and in the 300 meters dash. He also won both events to qualify for the Nationals Track Championship. Trevan Rucker, Devan Jones and Elaina Cheatham all qualified for the Group 3A Track Championship. The 4by8 relay team consisting of Josh Campbell, Jacob Booth, Jacob Grove and Colby Hudson placed 2nd in this event.

 

The RHS Chorus will be having a dress rehearsal immediately after school today until 4:00p.m.  WSET TV will be taping parts of that rehearsal for their Sounds of Christmas to be shown on Christmas morning.

The chorus will present their Winter concert, "Deck the Halls" Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  If you haven't had a chance to hear a live performance this season, you won't want to miss this one!

Tomorrow Dec. 15th Disc Golf will meet in Mrs. Rierson’s room after school.
