Congratulations to the forensics team for their outstanding performance at conference competition. Ben Kelley won fourth place in storytelling, Micah Livsey finished fourth in humorous interpretation, and Daniel Oliver won third place in humorous interpretation.  Congratulations to our two first place winners - Chelsey Fix in dramatic interpretation and Amanda Ivanoff in Impromtu speaking.

Teachers for Tomorrow students will report to RMS today.

Thanks to all those that tried out for the talent show.  Would all those that auditioned  please see Ms. Rierson sometime today for the cast list and important information.

Dodgeball Tournament has been postponed.  A reschedule date will be announced soon.

Just a reminder to keep bringing in canned goods for our Fighting Famine in February drive.  Let's see how many we can get this week!

 

Sports

Rustburg Boy's track team placed 10th in the Region West Track Championship. Isiah Garland broke the school record in the 55 meters dash and finished 2nd with a time of 6.43. The 4 by 8 relay team consisting of Jacob Booth, Jacob Grove, Josh Campbell and Colby Hudson placed 2nd in the event and broke the school record. The girls team placed 14th overall. Elaina Cheatham placed 3rd in the shot put and Chyne Davis placed 4th in the triple jump. Morgan Alvis placed 5th in the 3200 meters. These athletes advanced to the Group 3A Track Championship.

There will be a track meeting for all athletes interested in running Outdoor Track in the auditorium Thursday morning at 7:45am. If you can't make it please contact Coach Mosley.

Cheerleading Open gym will being Wednesday, February 25th from 5-7 at RHS in the commons. This is open to all students who are interested in trying out for the upcoming cheer season.  Contact Coach Cruz for more information.

Anyone interested in trying out for JV or Varsity baseball should see Coach Carr today during lunch.

Boys & Girls Tennis Teams will conduct conditioning drills right after school today.  Please meet in the Commons Area.

Please announce:  We will move wrestling mats back to Heritage HS tomorrow (Wednesday).  All wrestlers need to report to wrestling room immediately after school on Wednesday.

There are also some postcards from the Blue Ridge Soccer Haus in the main office for players who need to buy some soccer gear. The business is closing and will offer deep discounts starting Wednesday. 

Tryouts for Spring Sports will begin today.  All tryouts today will be at RHS in the gym.

7:00 - 8:30            Boys Soccer
