  • Attention 10th through 12th graders:  The first SAT prep session will be today from 2nd through 3rd period.  Please sign up in the Counseling Office if you are interested.
  • UVA has been added to the colleges who will visit RHS this fall.  In order to accommodate the most students, counselors from UVA will be here during 6th period on October 6th. You must sign up in the Counseling Office to attend.
  • Lynchburg General Hospital is looking for Teen Volunteers to work the information desk, gift shop, surgical lobby, guest services, pet therapy, and customer service.  Students who serve as teen volunteers for two years are eligible for a scholarship.  Come to the Counseling Office for more information. 


  • The MAC club will have their first meeting before or after school on September 11th. 
  • The STEM Club will have its informational meeting on Wednesday, September 18 in Mr. Murtha's room from 3:00-3:30 after school.
  • The Super Bowl canned food drive begins next Monday. Please bring in canned food items to your home FLEX class to benefit REAP. If you would like to give a donation instead of a canned food, $.50 is equal to 1 canned food item. The winning FLEX house will have an ice cream party.


  • Varsity Football Home vs. Bassett 7 pm
  • Any athlete interested in Fall Conditioning the first practice will be September 9,2019 on the track. Conditioning days will be on Monday's and Wednesday's 3:10-4:30. Monday's practices will be held at Rustburg Middle School and Wednesday's practices will be held at RHS. For more information contact Coach Mosley.


  • Seniors who still need to take senior portraits, the make-up day will be Sept. 12th.
  • Tonight we continue the red, white, and blue American theme for the football game. All students and teachers are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue and to sit in the student section in the bleachers. If you were at the volleyball game and got an American Lei, please wear that too!
