If you have an elevator key you are currently not using or may still have from last year, please return it to the main office as soon as possible.

Guidance

Attention students:  This Thursday is the last day to change any core classes.  You must have a parent sign a course change form which can be picked up from the Counseling Office.

 

Attention Seniors:  Are you attending a 4-year college? Take the  ACT or SAT test.  The next SAT test is October 3rd you must register by September 3rd.  The next ACT test is October 24 and you must register by September 18. The tests are free if you receive free or reduced lunch.  See your Counselor for more details.

 

 

Clubs  / Miscellaneous

 

Marching Band  practice every day this week after school.

 

The first French Club meeting will be Thursday, August 27th in the conference room from 3:00-3:45.  If you would like to be an officer, paragraphs are due by Tuesday, August 25th.

 

Any student who received a letter this summer indicating eligibility for NHS needs to see Mrs. Bailey (E206) ASAP to pick up your packets.  Forms must be completed and returned by Friday, August 28th.  If you attend early college or CVCC, you are still responsible for picking up the packet from Mrs. Bailey.  No packets will be mailed.

 

Spanish Club dues are $5 and need to be paid by Friday.  The first meeting is Wednesday, September 2 after school until 4:00pm.  Anyone can join; you do not have to be in Spanish.  See Mrs. Solorzano or Mrs. Morton for more information.

 

 

Sports

 

Girls Fall Basketball practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting next Tuesday, Sept. 1st from 3:00 to 4:30 at the high school.  Anyone not playing a fall sport and is interested in trying out should attend.  Players attending must have a sports physical.  They can be picked up in the main office.

 

There will be an informational session on Monday, August 31st on NCAA requirements for athletic eligibility and athletic scholarships.  Topics covered will include the new NCAA standards, the NCAA Eligibility Center, SAT/ACT and other topics related to college athletics.  The program will be in the auditorium at 6:30 pm.
