    We have a new security system at Rustburg High School that requires an extra step in keeping our school safe. This new system requires you to scan your driver's license every time you come to the school. Whether you are volunteering,  signing them in tardy, or picking them up early, the system requires you to scan your driver's license. Please start to bring your license in with you each time you visit the school. Thank you for helping keep our students safe.

    • Who wants La Carreta?  The first period class with the best home room attendance for the next five weeks will get a La Carreta party on April 5th.
    • Students, just a reminder that the Campbell County School Board cell phone policy is that electronic devices are supposed to be off and away during the school day.  If you are caught on your phone, you can expect disciplinary action.  Thanks for your attention to this matter.

     

    Guidance  

    • Yale University has selected Rustburg High School as one of their final stops on their College Visit tour.  A current Yale student will be visiting today during flex (March 21st).  Sign up in the Counseling Office if you are interested in hear about Yale University and the Ivy League education they offer.
    • Students who have not finished their algebra 1 MAP test needs to report to G110 following announcements.

    • Attention Juniors:  Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your permission slip to attend the College and Career Day at the Tech Center.
    • Attention AP students:  Monday is the last day to sign up and pay for your AP exam.  If you are not taking your exam, still turn in the form.

     

    Clubs

    • Like a hat, wear one on Friday! Sign up and pay one dollar in the commons  during lunches today. The money goes to the Little Free Pantry project. 

    • There will be an informational meeting in Mrs. Burrell’s room (E215) today at 3:00 for anyone interested in helping us start a Political/History Club for RHS.  All those interested in History and/or Political Science please consider joining us on Thursday.  The club is open to all rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

    • RHS AFTER PROM tickets will be on sale during lunches on the following dates:

                April 2nd - 4th

    • Yearbooks will be on sale from now until March 29 for $50.00. Please bring your orders to Mrs. Lacy in the office. If you do not prepay for a yearbook, you will not be guaranteed to get one. Due to the cost of production and shipping, we do not order extras so order your yearbook now.                                                      
    • The Jostens class ring representatives will be at RHS two days to assist students in ordering your class rings. The girls ordering date will be on Tuesday, March 26th during all lunches in the Commons Area. The guys can place their orders on Wednesday, March 27th during all lunches in the Commons Area. There will also be a family night ordering session for all students on Wednesday, March 27th after school until 6:15pm in the Commons Area. A $75 deposit is requested to place an order. Order now to be a part of the RHS Ring Ceremony in the fall. Extra class ring packets are available in the front office. All sophomores, juniors, and seniors are welcome to order.      
    • The Jostens letter jacket representatives will be at RHS on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 26th and 27th to assist students in ordering letter jackets. Jostens will be setup in the auditorium area during all lunches to help you with sizing and placing your order. Letter jacket information packets are available in the front office. Please make sure to bring your award letter with you on ordering day to be sewn on the jacket.

    • Off-season football practices will start on Monday, March 18th. We will be outside so you will need cleats to participate. Practices will be on Monday and Wednesday from 3:00-4:30.
    • The Rustburg girls tennis team defeated Amherst County yesterday by a score of 9-love. Winners from yesterday’s match are Megan Elliott, Kate Foster, Kali Hill, Skylar Farrar , Taylor Finley, Candace Wilson, Lisa Jabouti and Audrey Carlson.
